Geospatial AI technology company Dabeeo announced on the 17th that it has provided its mobile spatial information guidance service to Seoul's Sungae Hospital. Supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, this project aims to create a more convenient healthcare environment for all patients, including vulnerable groups in the community. With this service, patients and visitors to Sungae Hospital can easily view the hospital's entire facility information and utilize location-based navigation via their mobile phones.

Established in 1968, Sungae Hospital has been delivering patient-centered medical services for 56 years, becoming a vital healthcare hub in the community. Recently, it was designated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government as a disability-friendly obstetrics and gynecology center and underwent a comprehensive renewal to improve facilities, including tailored amenities for disabled mothers. In line with the hospital’s vision, Dabeeo developed a mobile mapping service specifically designed for Sungae Hospital.

The newly introduced mobile mapping service digitally represents key facilities such as the hospital’s main and annex buildings, 25 medical departments, an emergency medical center, a health examination center, 258 patient rooms and convenience facilities across floors. Visitors can access the service quickly and easily by scanning QR codes placed throughout the hospital without needing to install a separate application.

Notably, Dabeeo enhanced functionality to provide optimal routes for patients with mobility challenges and wheelchair users, including access to elevators and disabled-friendly amenities. The service is also integrated with the hospital’s appointment app, improving accessibility for users.

This service was designed with a wide range of users in mind, including first-time visitors unfamiliar with the hospital layout and health check-up clients needing to navigate multiple departments. Unlike traditional kiosks found in commercial facilities, Dabeeo offers a QR code-based solution, enhancing usability for spaces frequented by diverse age groups. Given the widespread adoption of QR codes during the COVID-19 pandemic, this approach is expected to make the service more accessible to a broader audience.

Dabeeo’s digital spatial information guidance service has already proven effective in major department stores, shopping malls, large supermarkets, exhibition centers and tourist attractions nationwide. Leveraging AI-based spatial information digitization and digital mapping technologies, Dabeeo meticulously analyzed Sungae Hospital's structural features and user needs to deliver a highly optimized service. The company anticipates that this case will not only enhance convenience and satisfaction for hospital visitors but also serve as a significant milestone in realizing social value through IT. Dabeeo also plans to expand this service to more healthcare facilities in the future.
