Data intelligence company Dabeeo announced that it has signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of the Dominican Republic (MMARN) for long-term cooperation in AI-based national territory, climate change, and environmental monitoring business.

The signing ceremony, held on the 29th at Dabeeo’s headquarters in Seoul, was attended by a high-level delegation from the Dominican Republic, including Paíno Henríquez, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, and Carlos Batista, Vice Minister of Protected Areas and Biodiversity.

This agreement serves as a long-term master plan to further define the scope of geospatial technology cooperation. It articulates a shared commitment to establishing an AI-based environmental and climate monitoring framework across the Dominican Republic and the wider Latin American region.

Currently, Dabeeo is successfully conducting a pilot project (PoC) focused on AI-based urban change detection in 'Santo Domingo Este', a capital region of the Dominican Republic. Through this agreement, the two parties plan to fully scale up joint projects leveraging satellite imagery and GeoAI technologies.

The Government of the Dominican Republic has recently been aggressively driving digital transformation and AI utilization policies across public and environmental sectors, guided by its 'National AI Strategy (ENIA)' and 'Digital Agenda 2030'. In line with this national initiative, the Ministry’s delegation visited Dabeeo’s headquarters to engage in in-depth discussions on expanding technical cooperation and joint initiatives based on GeoAI analytics. Moving forward, both parties plan to strengthen technical exchanges to scale solutions nationwide, encompassing ▲deforestation and land-use change detection, ▲coastal erosion monitoring, ▲climate-related impact solution development, and ▲local expert capacity-building programs.

Paíno Henríquez, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of the Dominican Republic, stated, "The Dominican Republic is currently pursuing an innovative digital transformation in the public sector under our 'National AI Strategy (ENIA)', and Dabeeo’s advanced GeoAI technology is the ultimate key to realizing this national vision. Having already witnessed Dabeeo’s unparalleled technological capabilities through the capital region's pilot project, I am confident that this agreement will mark a monumental leap forward for the conservation of our natural resources and our response to climate change."

Park Ju-hum, CEO of Dabeeo, stated, “The official strategic partnership established at the national level through the direct visit of the Minister and Vice Minister of the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MMARN) to Dabeeo represents a meaningful milestone that reflects strong confidence in Dabeeo’s AI technologies and data intelligence capabilities.” He added, “Through this collaboration, Dabeeo aims to go beyond simply providing technology and contribute to building a sustainable national development model encompassing environmental management, economic growth, and national security.”
